    Halloween Night....

Tomorrow is the Halloween Party. Today's practice was stressful cause we don't really have much time to practice all the songs. The rest of the performance took quite long to finish their rehearsal and the PA system will only be available till 11.00pm. But, we carried on with our practice anyway. I just came back from the practice actually. Had my dinner supper before coming back to my room and took a hot shower. Its raining now too. Well, we had to cut out two songs cause the performance coordinator only gave us 20 minutes to perform. So, we will only be performing four songs now. Here's the list again:

                1) The Cranberries - Zombie
                2) No Doubt - Don't Speak
                3) Tyler Hilton feat. Bethany Joy Lenz - When The Stars Go Blue
                4) Edwin McCain - I'll Be
                5) The Cranberries - Linger
                6) Vertical Horizon - Best I Ever Had

Sad...we had to scrape out two nice songs. Sigh. But then, there's still the other four nice ones..so it's cool. Today was also the last meeting for CF (Christian Fellowship). And we all had steamboat. I didn't went though, cause was too busy setting up the instruments in the PH hall. Actually this week is supposed to be the second last meeting according to this semester's planning but..I’m not sure what happened. Anyway, it's all fine.

Last Saturday was GFS Anniversary Dinner. It was the most stressful worship practice that I’ve had before. Everything was such a rush. The PA system people came late...very late. Practice was supposed to start around 12.30pm but we ended up starting one hour late!! To make things worse, the sound man doesn't even know what he's doing. What the!!!! And to top that, some of the musicians ended up arguing. The quietest person actually snapped and shouted. I won't tell who, but Grace and Kevin know. Awkward moment after that, everyone was quiet including Pastor Vic. I ALMOST snapped too, but I didn't want to ruin everyones' mood.

We finished practice at around 3.00pm. I drove Johnny's Kelisa back to college together with Amy, Ivan and Lillian. Stopped at KLIA for a while, then back in college. It was already 4.30pm when we reached. Immediately after that I fetched Amy and Ti to cut their hair and we came back at 5.15pm. Pastor Vic wants the worship team to be at the dinner place at 6.00pm. How to get ready in time?!!!! So i rushed and I noticed that its impossible to make it. I called Pastor and ask for permission to leave at six and he said ok. I was relief, but I'm still worried that Amy won't have enough time. I was right. We ended up leaving college at 6.20pm and reached there at 7.15pm.

And then..came the performance. IT WAS A MESS!!! I was so angry and stressed at that time. Pastor Chris was furious and he came up to the stage and talked to us. Some of them forgot their part. The sound was sucky. From the back of the hall, only the drums could be heard...nothing else. I was relief when i heard that actually..cause the music was very messy anyway. If I’m down at the dining table listening to it...I’ll put on ear plug.

Anyway, I just hope the same thing doesn't repeat itself tomorrow night at the Halloween Party. =)

    In class again....

Sorry for the lack of updating my blog. Its because of the internet connection here in campus. So I've decided to blog once a week, when i have this lab class cause basically everyone is just here to surf the net. Anyway, nothing much happened. I'm very busy with band and choir practices. Band practice is for the Halloween Night and the choir practice if for the Japanese High School (Hokusei Fusoku) visitation to my campus. Everthing went well till now. Halloween night is on the 1st of November and the Japanese students will be here on the 7th of November.

We are performing six songs for the Halloween Night. Here are the list:

                1) The Cranberries - Zombie
                2) No Doubt - Don't Speak
                3) Tyler Hilton feat. Bethany Joy Lenz - When The Stars Go Blue
                4) Edwin Mccain - I'll Be
                5) The Cranberries - Linger
                6) Vertical Horizon - Best I Ever Had

For Japanese High School Visitation, we are performing two songs:
                1) Seasons Of Love
*You can watch this on Youtube. Click on the link below

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YUVydxrsq8
    .
                2) Amazing Grace (Fast version)
*This song is really really cool. I'll post it up for you guys to
                check it out if possible.

I've been spending a lot of time practicing with my fellow bandmates and the rest of the choir members. At least three hours a day. Oh yea..let me introduce my band members:

                Main Singer - Siti Nadiah
                Guitar / Drums / Singer - Me
                Guitar / Drums - Audri
                Bass - Shaun Khoo
                Keyboard - Matthew

I wont introduce the choir team cause there's too many of them and i don't know a lot of them. Haha. Most of them are new comers so it'll take me a while to get to know them. And this saturday (27th Oct) is the Grace Anniversary Dinner Concert!! The worship team will be playing four songs. Here's the list:

                1) Hillsong United - Point Of Difference
                2) Planet Shakers - Majesty
                3) Planet Shakers - Praise Him
                4) Hillsong - Mighty To Save

Besides the worship team, we also invited three very well known singers to perform as well. Juwita Suwito (Malaysian Idol's vocal coach), Brother H.T Long (our very own Malaysian Elvis Presly) and Chinese gospel singer Sister Joanne Ng. All three of them will be performing a few songs that night. I'm looking forward for the anniversary dinner...XD. Half and hour left before my class ends. I guess that's all for now. Got to get ready for CF's worship practice later =).

    Sorry guys.....

I'm so sorry i didn't update my blog for sooooo long. Kinda lost the feeling to blog at that time, plus i'm kinda busy and with the current internet speed in my college...I won't even think about surfing the net. I'm actually in my lab class now, and the connection here is extremely fast...so i decided to blog XD. Well...shah and grace, I'm starting to blog again...hehe.

Well...a lot happenned. Now i'm actually studying more cause i didn't do well at all last semester. So, this semester i'm going to make sure my grade is good. I also stepped down from the vice president post in my CF by the way. And i'm currently busy with the swimming club, repertoir club and the halloween night. Swimming club will be having the college swimming competition and dinner on the 24th this month, repertoire club has just been established and we are invited to perform next month for some event and halloween night is on the 1st Oct and the organizer wanted a band performance. So..i'm kinda fully booked for this two months.

Oh yea...the Grace Anniversary Dinner is on the 27th this month. No no...NOT Grace Ong, i mean Grace Family Sanctuary. And the worship team will be busy preparing for the praise and worship for the dinner. Yesterday was the last meeting for DNA. And for you guys who dont know what DNA is, it is actually a cell group. DNA stands for Dicipleship, Nurturing and Accountability. Because it was the last meeting, we all had barbeque. Not really barbeque actually cause it was raining and we ended up having it in one of  the members house..haha. But it was fun...lots of food and getting to know one another. Anyway, i'm planning to go back to Taiping this weekend....hopefully =( . I can't get any bus ticket. Sigh. Wish i have a car, it's so convenient for me.

Oh...one more thing. After I graduate, i'm going to apply to be a pilot =) . Just to let you guys know. And if you guys are wondering...yes, i'm still as lame as last time!! Haha. Darn...45 minutes to go till class end. Sigh...time past so slow in class. Let's see...i'm still very into guitars and singing. I really hope the practice and the performance for the halloween night goes well. And my drumming is improving!!!! XD I wanna be equally good in guitars and drums...hehehe.

I'm running out of things to say!!! Hmmm...let me describe to you what everyone in my class is doing...haha. There are 23 students in my class...11 africans (3 of them are girls), 1 girl from myanmar, 7 chinese guys, 1 guy from india, 2 malay guy and 1 middle east guy. Lecturer is sitting in front reading some books while the rest of the students including me are surfing the net (friendster and stuff). Hahaha. Lame....i know.

    Oh...my class ends early!! XD

    So bored.....

Well....here i am again in front of my laptop. Nothing much to do at all since it's already semester break and everyone is back in their hometown except me. But i'm going back tomorrow. Yay!! Luckily Shah and Aizad is here. Played badminton with them in the evening and i felt really good cause i was so so bored being in the room for the whole day. After that, went to ETC for dinner with them. As usual i ate 'nasi goreng kambing' (mutton fried rice)....hehe. And i also ordered another one cause i was too hungry after playing badminton. So i ordered 'mee kung fu' (kung fu noodle). Yes, i know it sounds lame in english....hahaha. Till now i'm still wondering why they call it like that. Cause you see....the noodle didn't actually move and show me some punches. It just stays there waiting for me to eat.

Anyway, dinner was good. Came back to college and took a nice bath. I was quite dissappointed though cause i was looking forward to a hot shower and guess what....the shower was not hot! Someone spoiled it or turned it off...i don't know. So i had to take a cold shower and it was nice anyway. Later after that i was listening to From The Inside Out by Hillsong United and i felt like i just have to learn the solo. Just in case if i have to play it again in church cause last week in church i was playing this song and no one knows how to play the solo part. And that song won't be nice without the solo. So....i decided to tab it out myself. I sat in front of my laptop with my guitar and start listening to the song over and over again. It was hard, but for God...i will go all the way without giving up!

After one and a half hours of listening to the solo part over and over again, i finally got it!! Yes...i can now play the complete song =) . You guys should check out the song especially the solo part and you'll know what i mean....hehe. But too bad i don't have Justin's electric guitar with me now. Playing it on my classical guitar is hard cause dont have enough fret to play it....i mean the fret is actually enough but there's some part which is very hard to reach the fret with my classical guitar you know...haha. Can't wait to play it on an electric guitar cause it sounds really cool! And i'm proud of myself too for not giving up....hehe. After all the hard work, it finally paid off. I decided to reward myself by eating...haha. Went to mamak at Bistro Palma with Shah and i ate 'Tandoori' with 'Nan'. Did i spelled it correctly? Hopefully i did cause it'll be lame if it's wrong. I was so full i can barely walk. Haven't had that in a while cause i was kinda broke. Then, it's back to college again.

    Can't wait to go back Taiping...yay!! And it's tomorrow =) .

    Semester break....

It has been quite a while since i update my blog. Why? Too caught up with other things like assignments and also other stuff. Well...today is Easter Day! Two days ago was Good Friday. Went to Good Friday service in GFS with Arthur, Serene, Kien, Jason and Kheng Weng( Jason's friend). As usual, Arthur was driving us there and we all had to cramp cause there were 6 people in the car. I mean me and Arthur don't have to cause we were seating in front but the rest sitting at the back kinda suffered a while. The service was good but no food were provided due to fasting week. Anyway...the service started at 8pm and ended at around 9.30pm. After that, all of them went back to college accept for me cause i had to stay over in church. It was my first time overniting in church. It was fun though....haha.

Later that friday night me and some other guys who is also staying in church went out for supper cause all of us was so hungry. So we ended up at this retaurant called Green Palace. It's not actually a fancy place, just the name. I ate 'wantan mee' and 'kon lo mee'. The food there were cheap and it kinda remind me of Taiping. I kinda miss Taiping when i was there eating cause i haven't been going back for quite sometime. After supper, we all went back to church and me and two other guys wanted to jam for a while. So we played and also sang some songs and Pas.Vic actually had to ask us to go to sleep cause we were so into it that we forgot about the time. So we went to sleep after a while.

The next morning, i woke up on the floor. I fell into the space in between two mattresses. Yes i know....it's lame. I was laughing at myself right after i noticed it too...hahaha. I woke up at 8am and had to get ready for worship practice which is at 8.30am. Practice was over at 10am and i reached back here in college at around 11 something. Worship practice was good and we managed to finish it by 10 as planned. I was the guitarist and also the back-up. It was really nice since i always wanted to play and sing at the same time. I was so bored since everyone had already left for semester break. So i came back to my room and just sat in front of my laptop and listen to songs over and over again. Later that night, i went out for mamak with Arthur, Jessica and Joanne. It was quite fun since i have nothing to do in the room. Finished supper at around 1 something in the morning, so we decided to head back.

Woke up this morning, and it's Easter Day! I had to leave early for church this morning cause i'm serving. Church van came and picked me up at around 8.15am and reached church at around 9am. Singing and playing guitar was really nice. The feeling was great...hehe. Finally i get to back-up and play the guitar at the same time. After the church service, we had a music clinic for all the worship team.  Then, here i am again. Back in my room alone with nothing but music. Can't wait to go back to Taiping and eat all the food there....=)
